Lighting recommendations for Hockey Pitches at all levels
For both televised and non-televised venues alike, different lighting levels are required in order to ensure an optimal playing and viewing experience. In this section, we provide a brief overview of the various recommendations in play at different levels.
Non-televised
Recommendations here apply to any non-televised outdoor hockey venue, Hockey5s, and training pitches. Guidance is divided into three categories:
• Class I - 500 Lux
Class I guidelines provide lighting recommendations for any venue hosting high-level national and international competitions.
• Class II - 350 Lux
Class II guidelines provide lighting recommendations for any venue hosting club-level competitions and training.
• Development and community-level training - 200 Lux
At this level, recommended levels can be achieved by switching or dimming Class I or Class II standard lighting solutions.
